We generally find that lunch time is the best value time to eat in France and where better to find an appealing menu and friendly service than Le Relais des Sports 1/4 mile from Trinabelle in Le Neufbourg. Next door to Le Relais des Sports is also the Le Neufbourg restaurant which we have only tried once, not because we did not like it but simply because we keep running out of time on each visit. Bar Central in Mortain is equally appealing for lunch, as is Les Cascades the latter providing excellent takeaway pizza's too. If you long for fish and chips then Steve's fish and chip van will call in Mortain on a Saturday evening. For evening meals we find we cannot beat Au Bon Vent at the exit of Mortain, 1.5 mile walk from Trinabelle. There is an excellent, all you can eat, buffet starter and handsome main course with delicious home made chips. Then the dessert buffet is superb. Well worth a visit. Further afield there are an abundance of places to eat in St Hilaire. In Cuves, Near St Pois, there is also a more expensive restaurant with fine dining food. |
