There is also an open air swimming pool open from June to September. Locally there are Tennis courts and a Go Kart circuit as well as a well stocked mid size Carrefour supermarket. Within a 3 mile drive there is a leisure park (Village Enchanted) which has an 800m long zipwire circuit (Tyrolienne), dodgem cars, rope bridges, paintball and the like and a very reasonable entry fee. From La Petite Chapelle high above Mortain the view extends as far as Mont Saint Michel on a clear day. The main attraction of the area are the 2 magnificent waterfalls, La Petite Cascade and La Grande Cascade. Both are a short walk from the cottage. L'Abbaye Blanche is an old monastery building which in itself is a pleasure to stroll round but equally plays host to many exhibitions throughout the year. There are other easily accesible towns, such as Domfront and Vire, within a short drive but equally Le Neufbourg is a good base to travel further afield to attractions, such as Mont St Michel (1 hour), Bayeux and its famous tapestry (80 minutes), The Normandy WW2 landing beaches (90 minutes), Champrepus Zoo (50 minutes), Sandy beaches (50 minutes), Coastal towns and The Swiss Normandy (just over 1 hour).
